About Travel and Vanabus

“I never would have done this without you.” Said by both Maggie and Damien of their newest adventure.

Hi! I’m Maggie Jay (everyone calls me M. Jay) and I am the writer and photographer behind the former page, Travel and Cannabis. Lately though, things have changed.

Damien walked into my life and we rode to Florida to purchase our first tiny home, on wheels!

Lake Tahoe in WinterI now like to think of us as a power couple from Denver, Colorado (even though both of us are transplants). Damien is in finance and I am in marketing. We also have a top floor condo in the downtown Denver area that we rent out on Airbnb.

Our multi-faceted, busy lives have made it so we were always on the go, trying to keep all of our balls in the air. But, as many millennials are now finding out, adventure and success can go hand in hand.

We love to travel and have always enjoyed spending time in fabulous hotels and bed and breakfasts. Lately though, we have been drawn more and more to the, “Van life” lifestyle.

Alex Sirum GMC in Okeechobee Florida. So, a few months ago, we bought this vintage RV (that looks like a stretch VW Van) from Florida, stayed in it on the lot for 5 days while it was being worked on and drove it over 2,000 miles back to Denver (post coming on that adventure soon).

We got it home 7 days after we left and have been restoring it ever since.

When we do finally hit the road we plan to document, through blogs, video and photography, the journey of millennial entrepreneurs pursuing responsible consumption and a mindful approach to luxurious living. (So don’t worry, the cannabis content will continue to delight your eyes!)

I will continue writing here, but Damien may join in the fun sometime soon too. We both love to shoot and film, so lots of collaboration will be happening (and some already has… he designed the new logo and the original Travel and Cannabis logo!).

P-Moe loves riding in the coach.

Until then, follow along here and hear about our adventure bringing our 1973 GMC RV home (the 3 day trip that took 7 days), urban camping adventures (our favorite spot is outside of Advanced Auto Parts, go figure), DIY disasters (for me mostly, Damien is a whiz at fixing things), our pup’s adventures and so much more.
